Russell Athletics Teams Up With Georgia Tech

This was another project I did with Russell Athletics. To celebrate the signing of a multi million dollar ten year contract with Georgia Tech, Russell held an event where this video was shown along with a wide range of other entertainment. The client came to me and said they wanted a high energy video that highlights Georgia Tech’s use of their products. All drafts and revisions of this video were transfered using FTP. The client never had to leave the office. Furthermore a link to the latest revision could be easily emailed throughout Russell so that many eyes could see it. Once everyone was happy the project was delivered on a DVD.

The Shanghai Hotel

The Shanghai Hotel is the story of a young woman named Yin Yin (Eugenia Yuan), who illegally buys her way to the USA from communist China hoping to make a better life for herself and her family. After a long, treacherous journey stowed away in a the dark hull of an overcrowded cargo ship, Yin Yin arrives in New York City for what she thinks will be the beginning of a better life. Falsely promised a job in the technology industry, her dreams are shattered when she is told by the Snakeheads, an Asian gang, that her debt is much higher than expected. To pay off that additional debt she will have to work it off by being a prostitute. Yin Yin is devastated by the news that she is being sold into the sex slave trade. The rundown, decrepit building that Yin Yin and the other prostitutes live and work in is known as the Shanghai Hotel. Women from Thailand, Korea and China all reside in the Shanghai Hotel. Some of the women know what they are there for but most are just like Yin Yin, unwilling participants forced to sell their bodies. Upon arriving at the Shanghai Hotel, Yin Yin is isolated and locked in a room all by herself. The room has many windows, but the glass is spray painted black so that no one can see in or out. One window though is missing and is covered with just black tape. Yin Yin lifts the tape and has her only view of freedom and the outside world, the streets of New York City. While staring out the window, Yin Yin notices a bike messenger who is giving some food and blankets to the homeless people across the street from the Shanghai Hotel. She can tell that he is a kind-hearted person and decides to try and communicate with him. She gets his attention and passes him a note. The note tells of her horrible situation, but pleads with him not to tell anyone for fear of what repercussions the Snakeheads might take on her family in China. She ends the note by saying all she really needs is a friend. The bike messenger, named Carlos (Hill Harper), accepts her invitation of friendship but over time a love between the two of them develops through the passing of notes. The film explores the elements of human trafficking and the hardships that Yin Yin faces during her time at the Shanghai Hotel. Written by Jerry Allen Davis

This is a video I edited at Worldstorm Arts Lab in Atlanta, GA. It was produced by Jason Bell for TIAA-CREF. This video was shown at a ceremony honoring Dr. Claude Welch for his work in the field of education and his involvement in community service.

Captain Planet Foundation Fundraiser 2004

My work with the Captain Planet Foundation continued with another video for 2004. On this year the theme was “The Fabulous 60s” and the honorary chair was Ted Turner. I researched the archives of Turner Enterprises and I edited a piece about Mr. Turner, I also edited a part that was shot by Rhett Turner with the famous artist Peter Max. The last part of the video is a shoot I did with Barbara Pyle, The Mother of Captain Planet, at her home in Atlanta Ga. All of this was approved by approved by the Chair Person of the Foundation Laura Turner Seydel. My primary contact with the foundation was K.P. Hendry.

Capt. Planet Foundation Patron Event 2003

This video was shown at the 2003 fundraising event for the Captain Planet Foundation. Chair Person Laura Turner Seydel worked with me to convey the theme of that year’s event. The theme of the event was the Power of Time and how that can be used to make a positive affect on the environment and the education of children to improve their world. Working with me every step of the way was K.P. Hendry.

BellSouth Power Up

I edited this video at Worldstorm Arts Lab and it was produced by Francis Percarpio. It is a meeting opener we did for BellSouth in 2001. Jason Bell over saw the project when he was with Production Group International. Its basically a corporate pep rally video, its high energy and I am proud of the quick edits.

Coca - Cola Latin

This is a video I edited at World Storm Arts Lab and was produced by Francis Percarpio. jason Bell of Production Group International over saw the project. This was a meeting video used to start the Latin American Conference for the Coca - Cola Company. Basically we received boxes and boxes of tapes from Coca - Cola Latin American commercials and we put them together to popular Latin songs. This project was a lot of fun for even though it consisted of many long hours.
